Dr. Matthias Traimer

1963 born in Vienna; Law school University Vienna (1988 Master; 1993 PH. D); from 1988-1989 practical judicial service at Court; 1990-1994 assistant teacher at the University of Economics, Institute for Austrian and European Public Law; since 1995 civil servant at the Federal Chancellery, since 1999 Director of the Department Media and Information Society of the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chanceller.Traimer is anUniversity teacher for Public, Constitutional and Media Law, University of Vienna and University of Graz.Member of the board of the Research Institute concerning the law of electronic media.

2002-2004 Vice chair of the Standing Committee of Transfrontier Television of the Council of Europe.

Since 1998 Austrian representative in the Steering Committee of Media and Communication of the Council of Europe (Vice Chair 2005/2006, Chair  2007/2008).

Dr. Matthias Traimer is the Chair of the Austrian Information Society Council in the Federal Chancellery and author of several publications on Austrian media law.
