Marjan Hammersma

Marjan Hammersma is director Media, Literature and Libraries at the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. In this function she is responsible for the Dutch media policy, which regards broadcasting, both public and commercial, the press and new media. Also policy on public libraries, literature and the book market is part of the scope of her department. Issues attracting special attention are developments in technology (digitisation) and there effects on the different sectors , as well as diversity and the media and stimulating of reading.

Marjan Hammersma is director Media, Literature and Libraries since february 2005. Previous to that she was head of the audience research department and adviser of the board at Netherlands Public Broadcasting.
