Dr. Vatchkov

Dr. Vatchkov has been a Chairman of the State Agency for Information Technology and Communications since 2005. He also chairs the National Radio Frequency Council and the Interdepartmental Commission for Space Research. He is a member of the Academic Council of the International University, of the Balkan Academy of Sciences and of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria. From November 2008 until October 2009 Dr. Vatchkov is the Chairman of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

In 2007 Dr. Vatchkov was awarded with the Grand Pris of the Bulgarian Association for Information Technology for his overall personal contribution for the information technology development in Bulgaria. Dr Vatchkov graduated his higher education consecutively in Industrial electronics at the Technical University in Sofia and at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He is Associate Professor and has been awarded a PhD.
